Gate Valve Maintenance

Gate Valve’s require periodic maintenance to inject a lubricant into the valve cavity. The purpose of the lubricant is to occupy the empty space in the valve cavity, displacing aggressive fluids and contaminants and acting as a barrier to prevent further ingress.

Gate valve lubricant protection

The lubricant in the cavity wipes clean and coats the gate and seat seal surfaces, and provides lubrication protection to these critical surfaces when they interface with each other under high contact pressure.

The sealing performance of the gate valve relies heavily upon the condition of the gate and seat sealing surfaces. An effective Valve Lubricant also has the ability to provide sealing enhance to seal surfaces with minor damage (light scoring and galling), RS Clare’s Valve Lubricants have a well proven track record in this area.

Valve Lubricants - Valve Lubricant 601™

Standardise on one gate valve lubricant. Our Valve Lubricant 601™ fully hydrocarbon resistant valve grease, approved by 6 major OEMs including Cameron, GE and NOV’s valve equipment brands. Valve Lubricant 601™ holds the most approvals for any single product grade in the market, and recommended by valve manufacturers for use in their gate valves.

Valve Sealants - Valve Sealant 701

The Valve Sealant 701 range was designed to further expand on the sealing performance that had been achieved with Valve Lubricant 601TM. Our non-hardening sealants provide temporary emergency repair to damaged valves so that operations can continue until replacement and maintenance can be scheduled.

Valve Cleaners - synthetic valve cleaners

Our valve lubricants are effective because they are resistant to hydrocarbons and other chemicals, which makes cleaning the valve all the more difficult as it’s primary job is to remain in the valve cavity. We offer a range of synthetic cleaning fluids specially formulated to remove hydrocarbon resistant lubricants during valve repair and refurbishment or valve flushing.

Pump Equipment - range of pump systems

Working with our partners we have developed a streamlined range of high pressure pump equipment suited to handling our heavy duty valve lubricants and sealants. The range includes heavy duty pump systems, manual bucket pumps, a high pressure hand gun and a pump package specifically for valve cleaning fluids.
