RS Clare is proud of its location in the heart of Liverpool and our contribution to the local community and economy.
As a leading global company, we want to build an international reputation for developing sustainable best practices while showing our support for local green initiatives, charities and organisations.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) aim to make cities, towns and communities more sustainable and safe, particularly as the world’s population simultaneously increases and becomes more urbanised. Since 2007, more than half of the world’s population now lives in cities and this is only expected to expand further in the future.
With our head office and manufacturing in central Liverpool, we are committed to positively contributing to the city and its reputation as a modern and sustainable urban hub. We have set out to achieve this in different ways:
RS Clare has a rich and lengthy history as a pillar of the local community supporting local charities and organisations such as Dream High, KIND and Anglican Cathedral.
Our team contributes to the local area via weekly litter picking and reduce their carbon footprint by taking advantage of our cycle to work scheme.
RS Clare has recently received approval to purchase two electric vehicle charging stations and is now evaluating the suitability of deploying electric fork lift trucks.
We are scoping out projects to optimise bulk storage to reduce the number of deliveries of goods to site.
A building management system has been installed in our new £1.6m technical centre to improve how it uses energy. Controlled by two computers, a heat recovery system is in place to reduce emissions and recycle heat.
We have been awarded the SSE Green Certificate to acknowledge how the energy we use on site is renewable while 76 solar panels have also been installed.
Our EcoCurve Range of rail greases are Ecolabel certified, delivering high performance at the rail-wheel interface while being environmentally-friendly too.
Using a specially formulated grease thickener for enhanced stability in all climates and conditions, the highly adhesive nature of these greases gives lasting protection against wear and corrosion. Even under extreme pressure, heavy workloads and torrential rain, EcoCurve remains on the gauge corner, reducing run-off into the subsoil and the water table.
