At RS Clare, we are committed to implementing sustainable best practices to minimise the impact of our business, operations and production on the environment and make responsible use of natural resources wherever possible.
RS Clare’s lubricant products are developed to help our customers make long-term savings on operational costs as well as reduce their environmental impact. They do this by minimising friction to save on energy consumption, and they offer enhanced wear protection to extend the life of assets to reduce material footprint.
An example of this is 33% (one-third) of all energy used in transportation goes to overcoming friction. A good quality lubricant can enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions and conserve fuel.
In 2015, the United Nations met to create the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to set a global framework for countries, businesses and other stakeholders to address society’s most important challenges.
These 17 goals with their 169 targets are part of a drive to transform the world and achieve a more sustainable future by 2030.
RS Clare’s business practices are aligned to the UN’s SDGs. We aspire to be a global product leader with an increasing reputation for green innovation and R&D. We have decided to focus on 3 of the SDG’s that we consider we can make the most impact in, and are aligned to our business and values. You can find out much more about what we are doing in these three areas below:
The Sustainability Development Goals aim to make cities, towns and communities more sustainable and safe. Particularly as the world becomes increasingly urbanised, with data showing that since 2007, more than half of the world’s population now live in densely populated cities. At RS Clare, we are proud of our location in the heart of Liverpool and strive to ensure we positively contribute to the local economy and community.
Consumption and production drives the global economy and there is a responsibility on many companies to treat natural resources carefully by adopting more energy efficient and sustainable practices. At RS Clare, we are committed to continually enhancing our processes around consumption and manufacturing to ensure we are doing what we can to lessen our environmental impact.
The sustainable use of our oceans, sea and any marine resources is essential for our existence on the planet and an ecosystem the UN’s SDGs are concerned to preserve. This goal aims to reduce the amount of pollution and preserve life with these marine ecosystems.
RS Clare is proud to have been awarded a Silver medal by EcoVadis, in recognition of our sustainability strategy, initiatives, and operating practices. This medal places RS Clare within the top 25% of sustainable businesses, and we will continue working to further improve this.
EcoVadis is the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating, providing its accreditation to over 90,000 companies in over 160 countries and 200 industries.
