Food fuels the workday, but where you eat matters just as much as what you eat. That’s why we’ve upgraded our canteen, located in the Works, redesigning it to be more functional, welcoming, and enjoyable.

The old canteen served us well, but it had become outdated, and it was time for a refresh to modernise the space and make it a place people genuinely enjoy.

What’s changed?

The kitchen has been fully equipped to meet the needs of our busy workforce. Multiple microwaves mean no queuing at lunchtime. A new hob, extractor hood, fridge, and integrated dishwasher make the space practical and easy to use for our colleagues.

The dining area has been transformed into a comfortable, café-inspired space with new tables and chairs, so colleagues can sit down properly and make the most of their break. A foosball table offers a bit of light relief, and potted plants bring a welcoming, relaxed feel to the room.

Why it matters

The canteen gives colleagues from across the business a natural place to come together, whether that’s over a coffee, a game of foosball, or simply a few minutes away from the desk. Those informal connections matter, and a well-designed communal space makes them easier to build.
