The Solution

An innovative curved rail lubrication solution for metro and tram systems, our ClareTech EcoCurve Onboard 000 gaugeface grease has been designed for application via on-board wheel flange lubricators/spray equipment applying the lubricant directly to the wheel flanges. Part of our Ecolabel-certified range of rail curve greases, ClareTech EcoCurve Onboard is a high performance lubrication solution that has been specially formulated to meet the unique challenges of onboard application, and ensure optimal protection and noise reduction at the wheel/rail interface by mitigating flanging noises. Furthermore, by conforming to the EU Ecolabel, ClareTech EcoCurve Onboard is also held to the highest environmental standards and gave the customer the confidence to know that their curved rail lubricant would have a minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

The rail operator trialled ClareTech EcoCurve Onboard 000 on two fleet units and there was an immediate and significant reduction of noise levels by ~25-35dB. Over the course of the trial, the engineers also reported being able to extend lubrication intervals on the sharpest curves by 35%. This translated to reduced cost and risk through a significant reduction in staff mobilisation for trackside application. ClareTech EcoCurve Onboard delivered a high-performance, biodegradable, and safe to handle rail lubrication solution to our customer, solving the problems they had been experiencing and satisfying all of their requirements.
