A member of RS Clare’s Technical Sales team made several visits to Gulf Drilling (GDI) to deliver technical presentations on our high-performance Valve Lubricant 601TM and Valve Sealant 701 solutions. During these sessions, our Technical Sales Manager consulted with Well Integrity Engineers around some issues they had been experiencing and had found other valve lubricants and sealants to be ineffective.
Field operatives began reporting leaking valves on some manifolds, resulting in an inability to achieve valve integrity in the flow back stages of their drilling campaign.
If unresolved and leaking continued, this could have serious consequences if the well has a ‘kick’ and the flow back manifold valves are not able to safely and effectively control the flow back pressure.
Engineers were looking for a solution to regain well integrity, maintain safety during operations and reduce maintenance costs. After an initial trial of Valve Sealant 701, it proved it’s sealing capabilities by sealing the leaking manifold valves, Gulf Drilling initiated wider utilisation of 701 across their operations, reporting further positive results.
Well Integrity Engineers quickly realised the value of our high-performance valve sealant, particularly the reduction in time and costs of corrective maintenance limiting instances of non-production time (NPT).
