Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state owned public corporation established in 1974 and is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar. Dukhan Field in an onshore field located along the west coast of the peninsula, and is the country’s largest producing oil field. It contains 4 reservoirs, 3 are oil and 1 contains non-associated gas.
Restoring Valve Integrity On A Number Of Different OEM Valves – Qatar Petroleum, Dukhan Field
The Problem
A Senior Wellhead Supervisor at Qatar Petroleum engaged with RS Clare as they had been experiencing some issues with valve integrity and decided to explore the options of using a higher grade grease. A campaign was set up to trial ClareTech Valve Lubricant 601™ in multiple valves across several locations with the aim of sealing any leaks they were experiencing.

The Solution
The results of the trial was a 100% success rate (14 out of 14 wells) with the application of ClareTech Valve Lubricant 601™. This meant major cost savings as they no longer had to replace costly Xmas tree valves. The product was applied on wellhead and Xmas tree brands such as Cameron, Wood Group and FMC, on a variety of operational trees including oil producers, powered water injectors, gas injectors and gas producing wells. This demonstrates the wide versatility in terms of OEM valve manufacturers and types of operations that are all suited to ClareTech Valve Lubricant 601™.
