After visiting Jaguar Land Rover and meeting leaders in the Merseyside financial community, Alderman David Wootton came to RS Clare to hear of an example of exporting success at a time when the UK economy is in the doldrums. We had won the only Queens Award for Exports on Merseyside in 2011, and exports represented 47% of manufactured sales in the year.After an introduction by the Chairman, Noel Patterson Commercial Director shared information about our current global spread and our Medium Term Strategy.

Steph Gawne Commercial Sales Coordinator, who as a relative newcomer explained some of the ‘people oriented’ policies which make working for Clare worthwhile.
Mike Parker, Chairman of Liverpool Vision who organised the visit, and who had previously been CEO of Dow Chemicals Inc. in The United States showed great interest in the firm, as did The Lord Mayor, who couldn’t understand why such a successful firm is still independent!
Ian Meadows explained that after 264 years in business we have learned to take the long view.
