OIL & GAS WELL INTERVENTION

In advance of the well intervention job, the wellhead and tree assembly need to be prepared for rig up of the intervention equipment, such as wireline unit, coiled tubing rig or snubbing unit. In order to rig up safely, two integral well barriers are required and these are gate valves on Xmas Tree. Often problems arise when coming off production, and full sealing integrity of the tree valves cannot be gained, and delays to the rig up of the intervention equipment ensue.

Preventative Maintenance

Using Valve Lubricant 601^TM during the production preventative maintenance program greatly reduces this risk, as sustained protection to the valve previously has been provided. Equally Valve Lubricant 601^TM has been proven to assist leaking valves generate an effective seal when injected as a corrective measure at the start of the intervention job. If the valve’s leakage is more severe, indicating greater damage to the valve’s gate and seat sealing surfaces, then Valve Sealant 701 should be selected.
