ClareTech HFL

RS Clare’s hydraulic fracturing lubricant ClareTech HFL is a cutting-edge new technology valve lubricant redefining how we think about valve lubrication during frac applications.

Water Resistant Gate Valve Lubricant

ClareTech HFL has proven quantifiably time after time that it can handle at least 60 stages of 100 mesh sand without any field re-greasing, whilst eliminating sand ingress and damage to the gates, seats & seat pockets. This allows Users to greatly reduce many of the lifecycle costs of maintaining a fleet of frac valves, such as excessive grease spend and the time and money spent replacing and installing new internal valve parts after each frac job.

Post job valve hardware goods repair / replacement can typically be reduced by 80%

Many frac service companies use a generic valve grease in their frac valves, regreasing every stage to try to keep proppant out of the valve cavity and protect the valve components. This results in vast quantities of grease being consumed and still does not guarantee the valves won’t sand off or fail.

ClareTech HFL is completely different. This new approach is to fill the valves only once, pre-frac job in the shop and with zero re-greasing during the entire frac job.

Total performance has been demonstrated repeatedly through field trials covering over 600 total frac stages and counting. ClareTech HFL enables all brand & models of frac gate valves to be on-site maintenance-free valves. This gives the following benefits:

Reduces grease volumes used per frac operation by over 75%
Minimises transition times between stages
Eliminates grease covering wireline tools
Removes the need for greasing manifolds or running long grease lines across the pad
Assured valve function & well control at all times through zero valve cavity sand outs
Safer and more efficient frac jobs

ClareTech HFL allows service providers to maximise the life of their existing assets and optimises the operational performance of them, resulting in safer frac jobs and faster asset deployment, meaning more revenue and less risk for service providers.

Why does ClareTech HFL perform so well?

Finally, ClareTech HFL has an enhanced valve sealing property in addition to its lubricating characteristics. So for any frac gate valves on the stack which have been damaged and will not hold pressure, HFL can be deployed as a valve sealant and has been proven to enable the valve to generate full pressure seal, permitting safe and efficient equipment rig down.
