We are very proud to announce that our Development Chemist, Steve Nolan has had his paper published in the ELGI magazine.
This paper describes the development of a new grease oxidation test, using the PetroOxy apparatus, referred to as the Rapid Small Scale Oxidation Test (RSSOT).
The old / traditional oxidation test took one working week to achieve a single test result, whereas this new test can achieve a similar evaluation in minutes / hours with very good precision.
This enables us to develop more effective and cost efficient additive treatments for our products, and makes it possible for quality control checks on oxidation performance going forward.
RS Clare are now working with the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) to get this test formally adopted and we are doing a large statistical testing exercise to make this happen as soon as possible.
We always try to ensure that our products are at the cutting edge of technology. By using the latest technology in our testing we can develop and enhance our products to meet customer requirements and go beyond their expectations.
Steve’s paper on the RSSOT apparatus was given at last year’s ELGI meeting.
