BIMAGRIP BRIDGE DECK SURFACING

The BIMAGRIP range of slip and skid resistant surfacing systems provide ideal solutions for the treatment of both vehicular and pedestrian bridge decks.

The BIMAGRIP system comprises a polyurethane primer, a flexible fast cure polyurethane adhesive and a dressing of a selected, durable aggregate.

The products have a successful track record dating back to the first application carried out on a footbridge over the A41 on The Wirral in 1987.

This surfacing remains in excellent condition and is available for inspection.

BIMAGRIP is based upon state of the art polyurethane technology. The products are fast and straight forward to apply and treated surfaces may be reopened to full traffic just 2 hours following application.

Advantages of the BIMAGRIP system include:

  • Can be successfully applied to steel (inc. galvanised), concrete, timber and asphalt substrates

  • Cured system retains high degree of flexibility

  • Reopen to traffic 2 hours following application

  • Cures at low temperatures (<0°C)

  • Exceptional levels of slip, skid and abrasion resistance

  • System is fully impervious

Since the first application in 1987, bridge decks throughout the world have been treated with BIMAGRIP.

Notable applications include:

  • Lionsgate Bridge, Vancouver (shown left)

  • 17,000m2 of flyovers in Panama

  • Temporary road bridge, Boston, USA

  • Floating steel bridge, Ndama Ranch, Kenya

Existing sites for inspection and case histories are available throughout the UK.

For pedestrian bridges and medium trafficked vehicular bridges specify BIMAGRIP HD. For heavily trafficked vehicular bridges specify BIMAGRIP LS.
