Only a week after winning Groundwork
Merseyside's Environmental SME of the year award, Merseyside's
oldest manufacturer RS Clare has been awarded Merseyside
Manufacturing and Automotive Group's SME of the year.
At a special Awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel at Speak
Airport on Friday, Bob Taylor MD of Getrag Ford presented the
trophy to representatives from the Sales, Production and Admin
Departments of RS Clare, to their obvious delight.
Chief Excetuive Ian Meadows responded to a very warm speech
by MAG's Chairmen Brian Adrey who pointed out that the firm was
in business during the reign of King George II and yet was
clearly still going strong!
He said " We might be the oldest manufacturer in
Liverpool, but having reinvented ourselves fundamentally ten
times over the past 260 years, we have become adept at
recognising the need to constantly seek out solutions to
clients' unsatisfied needs and to ally ourselves with their
objectives. That way we are on their side.
"By capturing the imaginations of our
employees - engaging with them to improve business processes -
we now have a powerful array of positive people who want us to
succeed. Achieving record profits of nearly £1,500,00 in
2007 enabled us to pay an average pay rise of double the rate of
inflation".
