BIMAGRIP MARINE

A SAFE SURFACE SOLUTION

BIMAGRIP offers Ship Owners, Fleet Operators and Port Managers a low profile skid resistant surface on steel ramps and decks, which contributes to the safe and efficient loading and discharging of vehicle and pedestrian traffic in both wet and dry conditions.

FORMULATED FOR PERFORMANCE

The BIMAGRIP surface is a selection of high-grade abrasion resistance aggregates held together with a blend of specially formulated polyurethane resins, designed to give strength, flexibility, and long life durability.

There are two main grades to suit most site conditions - BIMAGRIP LS and HD.

CORROSION PROTECTION

The BIMAGRIP resin system also encapsulates the steel surface to give added corrosion protection, thereby extending the service life of the steel substrate itself.

SAFETY AT WORK PRODUCT

BIMAGRIP is preferred by drivers of vehicles, for its smoother ride, unlike the vibrations and wheel spin experienced with the traditional square bar metal anti skid systems. The installation of BIMAGRIP saves tractor unit owners as there is less wear and tear on their vehicles as a direct result of the removal of these two conditions. Gear boxes and tyre service life is extended, not having to deal with a loss of traction. BIMAGRIP has benefits for all management, reducing operating maintenance costs of both people and machines as Health and Safety at work steadily focuses our industry.

RECENT INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

BIMAGRIP, a tried and tested surfacing product since the late 1980’s, has since the mid 1990's become established in the marine new build sector for PCTC vessels. Following extensive trials, Wallenius Lines, one of the largest specialist car carrying companies in the world, specified the BIMAGRIP surface on five of their new build large PCTC vessels. HUAL are currently having BIMAGRIP applied on their 7 new build PCTC’s. AP Moller and Ray Shipping between them are having BIMAGRIP applied to over 20 such vessels.

The product offered the key features mentioned above, which were seen as particularly important to all of these ship owners for the fast, safe and efficient loading and discharging of their vehicle carrying operations. BIMAGRIP offered something that the traditional welded metal bars or stretched metal mesh could not offer, particularly in wet conditions. Wheel tyre spin due to lost traction not only affects safety but also hampers efficient vehicle movement.

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT

R.S. Clare is at the forefront of development of new surfacing products for the Marine industry. BIMAGRIP is manufactured at our Liverpool factory under the International Quality Standard ISO 9001:2000.
