Latest News March 2009 RS Clare hosts European Eco Labelling Working Group On 5th and 6th March 2009, RS Clare hosted the penultimate meeting of a  multi industry European wide initiative to increase the uptake in Eco Labelling by industries across the board. Funded in part by the European Union, the purpose of the working party has been to improve the uptake of environmentally friendly lubricants by proving that they can be cost effective and of comparable quality to non biodegradable products. The findings will be published in the Autumn. RS Clare Strategy Day 5th March 2009 Every 6 months at RS Clare we hold a strategy day off site for all employees to keep them in the loop, share issues of importance, seek their input and involvement in improving the operation.  Each one is different....before this last one, everyone toured each department and thought of a)  One improvement they had noticed over the previous year and b) One thing that needs attention.  All of those reports will go to the various managers for attention, and next time we will share with everyone what has been done about it.  (Action plans will be agreed at Monthly Departmental briefings.) At this meeting I shared the Strategy to achieve budget this year having told them the departmental profitability for 2008, and sought buy in.  We got it in spades.  We showed an in-house DVD about the last 260 years and improvements we made in 2008, and interspersed the day with 'fun'.  The drummers started the event after lunch at the Marina, and it really got the day off to a good start!
