CHEMICALS NORTHWEST SME OF THE YEAR
RS
Clare made submissions to four categories of the Chemicals
NW inaugural awards 2009 and was successfully short-listed
in each. The company has won numerous awards for
environmental management over recent years so it was no
surprise that they were short-listed in the category of
Sustainable Manufacturing. Equally, the company has
developed an impressive portfolio of export work and was
runner-up in the 2008 Chemicals NW award for International
Trade. RS Clare has significantly developed the business in
overseas markets and has an outstanding record with many of
its products so it was again encouraging to be short-listed
for this years International
Trade Award.
The
company was also short-listed in the category of Company of
the Year where the judges were looking for excellence from
companies who have significantly progressed
their business whilst contributing to the chemical industry
in the North West of England which enjoys a total turnover
in excess of £10Billion. It was however the prestigious
Chemicals NW SME Award were RS
Clare came to the fore and was named the 2009 SME of the
year. The company are obviously
delighted with the award which is a further milestone on the
company’s route to excellence and recognition for the
efforts of all its employees. The company logo highlights
that People – Partnerships – Progress are key and can
adequately demonstrate the importance of this with policies
and processes aimed at positioning the company at the very
top of all the industries that it is involved with. Sharing
the success of RS Clare at the Awards evening were customers
representatives Susannah Linington
of BP Castrol and Peter Knighton
of Mc Cambridge who were delighted with the success and
eagerly said so with their praise when the winner was
announced. Receiving the award on behalf of RS Clare were
Production Manager Paul Wilson and Supply Chain Manager
Elaine Littlewood. In his acceptance speech Paul related how
the oldest manufacturing company on Merseyside were going
from strength to strength at times when many other business
were struggling with the economic environment. He went on to
stress the importance of having employees who were dedicated
to the success of the business and clearly focused on
customers and suppliers alike to forge outstanding business
relationships.
